Door Series #26

I was asked to give more info on the bike sharing program that I mentioned in yesterdays post (Ciao LindyLou!). It's a pretty cool program. You pay for a membership, 20 euros for a year, 5 for a week, and 2 for a day. They give you a membership card and you swipe that card across the machine at any one of the 116 bike stations around town. You take a bike and have 30 minutes to ride it for free. For example you pick up a bike at Piazza Castello and you ride it to Corso Re Umberto and you put it away. When you are finished at Re Umberto you swipe the card again and take another bike and ride it back to Piazza Castello, or where ever you want. Everybody shares the bikes!
Here is the web site: http://www.tobike.it/Default.aspx

Thanks for explaining how the bike sharing scheme works. I hope this idea spreads around the world, maybe it already has and I have just not heard about it before.
