What Is That? Topinambour

At the grocery store I often find myself asking, "What is that?" Like this: Topinambour
It looks like ginger but it's not. According to Wikipedia, it's the root of a daisy plant that can be eaten like potatos.
Has anyboy tried these? I'm curious to know how to eat them.

Oh, yes! Here in the states they are called Jerusalem artichokes or sun-chokes. They are the root of a type of sunflower and taste very much like sunflower seeds would if you boiled them :) Great roasted, smashed with butter, raw like jicama, or in a gratin!

Yummy! For me, the best way to eat topinambour is making flan (you must try with "fonduta" cheese).
Have a nice day!

he best is soup with topinambour and potatoes: you boil them (but without the skin) and them you put potatoes and topinambour in the minipimer, put them again on the gas, add a little bit of milk and serve.
